Contact Lenses
Contact lenses have had significant advancements in materials and designs. If you have had trouble with contacts before, it may be worth trying again. We offer contact lenses for both children and adults, and our optometrists can assist you in making the right choice.
Soft contacts are widely popular for their comfort and diverse design options, including toric (astigmatism) and multifocal designs. New soft lenses are released every year, with advancements to improve comfort and vision. Most recently, the new Acuvue Oasys 1-Day MAX offers the first ever blue light filtering contact lens, available in astigmatism, multifocal, and multifocal + astigmatism designs.
Scleral lenses are larger rigid lenses, primarily used for patients with corneal degenerations or irregularities. Also a great option for severe dry eyes!
Rigid gas-permeable lenses (RGP) provide sharp vision, durability, and resistance to protein build up. RGP lenses are available in bifocal and multifocal designs.
Orthokeratology are rigid myopia control lenses worn exclusively during sleep. Over time, ortho-k lenses reshape the corneal surface to provide clear vision throughout the day, without the need for any glasses or contact lenses while awake. Ortho-k wear also reduces progression of nearsightedness by up to 60%! A great option for young children with highly near-sighted parents, and athletes who don’t want to deal with sports glasses or soft contacts during activities.
Interested in myopia control without resorting to rigid lenses? MiSight soft lenses may also slow progression of near-sightedness by up to 59%, reducing dependence on future glasses and contacts, reduced risk of retinal tears and detachments, and reduced likelihood of glaucoma as an adult.
